As a minority owner of the New York Yankees, Barry Klarberg is a power hitter in the sports world. Now the Greenwich resident is using his influence to give back. "By teaching sports management to juniors and seniors at the University of Michigan, I'm sharing some of the expertise I’ve acquired over the years in this rapidly evolving field,” Klarberg said. “It’s a great feeling to know I’m giving back to these young people, many of whom are from New York, New Jersey and Connecticut," he said. Klarberg's wealth management company, MAI Capital, represents some of the world's biggest stars. He manages billions in investments. One of Klarberg's students, University of Michigan senior Spencer Goldberg of Rye, New York, says Klarberg's course is famous for being "as fun as it is informative." "Everything you learn is meant to help prepare you to become a leader in the sport business industry,” Greenberg said. “I feel lucky to have the opportunity to learn from such an amazing man. He genuinely cares about us -- and about the industry he's helped to shape," Goldberg said. "Barry's the bomb," he said.
