A young Stamford girl is making Christmas brighter for other children through a donation to Toys for Tots.
When 10-year-old Brooke Healy found a recipe for scented bath scrubs online, she says she wanted to put her new hobby to use for less fortunate children.
Brooke Healy's mother, Erin, says before she knew it, they had sold 140 containers of scrub at $8 a piece. They spent that money on over 100 toys from local stores and dropped them off at Toys for Tots.
Brooke Healy says her inspiration came from her grandmother who passed away earlier this year.
She says she's already planning to make more scrub and donate more toys next year.
Organizers say Toys for Tots has less collection boxes out this year due to the pandemic, but you can still donate online.
