Health care workers across New Jersey and the world are putting in countless hours and risking their lives to save lives from the coronavirus.
Two Morris County towns have joined forces to thank those workers and help feed them while they work on the frontlines.
Residents and restaurant owners from Madison and Chatham created FLAG, the Front-Line Appreciation Group, on Facebook – a group dedicated to bringing food to health care workers who are working harder than ever.

“They’re coming in contact with all the people that everyone else is trying to avoid,” says Nick Vorderman, owner of Sunday Motor Co. Café. “That should be rewarded.”
The effort also helps support local eateries, which have had to mostly close except for offering takeout or delivery, while also feeding the health care workers.
“To help those front lines stay energized, stay positive, that’s what we all should be focused on,” says FLAG organizer Liz Bernich.

And it is not just about food. The group has also over raised $57,000 in donations.
The effort started in New York and has also spread to several other states.
