Authorities have identified the 31-year-old man who died in the custody of Milford police over the weekend.
Justin Griffin, of Milford, died following what began as a routine traffic stop, according to police.
An autopsy was done Monday but the results have not been made public.

They say police pulled Griffin over Saturday afternoon for a minor motor vehicle issue and discovered there was an outstanding warrant for his arrest regarding firearms paperwork errors.
Police say Griffin cooperated and was taken to the police department for booking. But during processing, they say staff noticed that he appeared pale, weak and lethargic.
Police called paramedics, who responded and took Griffin to Milford Hospital. Authorities say that the staff there checked him out and performed tests. The hospital gave the OK to release him back to police custody around 11 p.m. Saturday.
News 12 is told that officers closely monitored Griffin in his cell, and discovered him unresponsive just after 5 a.m. Sunday.
Paramedics were summoned again, and they rushed Griffin to the emergency room, where he was declared dead.
Connecticut State Police are now investigating the case, per protocol.
Milford police say they want to be as transparent as possible in the state police investigation.
"We've already released several documents, all of our footage, our body-worn footage, the officers' interactions, and we're in the process of releasing all of our video from the cell, the holding area, throughout his entire stay," says Officer Mike Devito, with the Milford Police Department.
News 12 reached out to Milford Hospital for comment but has not yet received a response.
