Batman may have had lots of cool devices, but real-life crime fighters in Connecticut hope to save lives with their own BAT Mobile device.

State cops proudly displayed the Breath Alcohol Testing (BAT) Mobile Unit, a $250,000 vehicle designed to snatch drunken drivers and keep them off the roads. The BAT Mobile was designed to allow troopers to remain at DUI arrest scenes longer. It includes an intoximeter to determine how much alcohol is in a driver's system, a computer database to research a driver's record and a single holding cell to be used when necessary.

Debuting in Preston on New Year's Eve, state police say the BAT Mobile will be used at DUI checkpoints. The Connecticut Department of Transportation paid a $50,000 portion of the bill.
