A Bridgeport mom was shot in the head while picking up her kids from a babysitter two weeks ago.
Nokubonga Mnikathi says she was hospitalized for two days after being shot in the head on April 28.
The single mom says she had just picked up her kids from a babysitter at Trumbull Gardens, when she heard the gunfire.
One bullet struck the back door of her Mazda, while another struck her in the head and became lodged in the roof of her car.
Mnikathi says doctors believe her thick curls helped prevent the round from shattering her skull.

The certified nursing assistant, who came to the US from South Africa nine years ago, says it is still hard to believe was shot in the head with her kids in the car.
"Being a parent, I don't have time enough to go to go to those emotions of anger. I'm just in a survival mode, 'cause I need to be here for my kids," she says.
Police say they are examining surveillance video and urge any witnesses who have not yet come forward to consider cooperating.
