An escaped inmate was captured after seeking medical treatment for a hip injury, police say
Christopher Somsky, 45, of Westport escaped Saturday afternoon during a furlough program at a community college in Enfield.
He was classified as a "low-risk offender" and a reward was being offered for his capture.
Police say Somsky walked off from the program.
He was arrested by the Department of Correction’s Fugitive Unit at 11 p.m. Sunday after being treated for a hip injury likely sustained while on the run, police say.
