Ex-Bridgeport detective accused of attempted murder reportedly dead
The former Bridgeport police detective who allegedly shot his ex-fiancée and then tried to take his own life in Florida last Thursday is reportedly dead.
Lennie Grimaldi, the author of the blog Only in Bridgeport, reported on his website that Billy Chase has died.
Police say the former highly decorated detective shot his ex before turning the gun on himself.
The ex-fiancée is in the hospital fighting for her life.
Police say Chase's ex-fiancée had taken out three different restraining orders against him for domestic violence.
