Experts say that finding a perfect Christmas tree may be a bit difficult this year due to a tree shortage.

The Great Recession of 2008, combined with an excessive supply of Christmas trees, drove farmers out of business.

It takes eight to 10 years to grow a tree, but with fewer farmers comes fewer trees.

"There's definitely a tree shortage. People this year are asking for some trees I usually bring in that we can't grow here locally and we just couldn't get them this year,” says Mike Sabia, of Sabia Tree Farm.

Sabia Tree Farm still has a variety of trees to choose from.  They suggest picking a tree sooner than later to avoid shortages.  The farm also offers handmade holiday crafts and decorations, as well as festive wreaths.

It is open every weekend leading up to Christmas from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
