Stamford police are investigating after people reported finding multiple handguns hidden in various places around the city in recent weeks.

Residents say that they are scared because so many young children live in the area.

Police say that a fully loaded .22-caliber revolver was found on Cove Road. They say that last week someone else found a fully loaded semi-automatic behind a washing machine in a laundry room elsewhere in Stamford.

Police are asking residents to call 911 if a gun is found.
