A motorist who admitted to killing a pedestrian in Bridgeport last year will not serve any time in prison.
Investigators tell News 12 Connecticut that the defendant, Brenda Stroman, hit and killed Milagros Rivera on Union Avenue last May, after the victim fell into the road.
A judge today called the ordeal, "a tragedy, but a tragedy that was an accident," and said the driver shouldn't go to prison.
Following the hearing, the Rivera family said they're glad they can move forward with their lives, but vowed to continue their fight for justice.
Investigators say Stroman also hit a second person who was trying to help Rivera, but that person has since recovered.
