A man charged with murder in a fatal stabbing in Norwalk appeared in court today.
Sheldon Frierson is facing murder charges in the death of 29-year-old Michael Moody.
In the court documents, Frierson says he was hanging out with Moody earlier in the day, and refers to him as his "cousin." He says he got into a heated fight with Moody at Moody's apartment around 1 a.m. on Aug. 8. In the documents, Frierson tells authorities he does not remember stabbing Moody - just slashing him with a knife.
The warrants say Moody had slash wounds on his arms and stab wounds in his chest.
In the documents, a woman living in the same apartment complex as Moody states that she and the suspect Sheldon Frierson had dated for four years, and that he is the father of her 2-year-old daughter, but there was a protective order against him and he was not supposed to be at her apartment.
When police arrived on scene, they initially arrested Frierson for violating that protective order.
News 12 spoke with Moody's family in court today, but they did not wish to speak on camera. They say this is particularly hard since Moody and Frierson were close.
Frierson's bond was set at $1 million. Frierson will be in court Sept. 6. The case is being moved to the Stamford courthouse.
