Students in Middlesex County are helping provide warm coats to people in need.

In the dry cleaning shop at the East Brunswick Vocational Technical School of Middlesex County, the students clean jackets and coats donated from all over town.

"The kids love doing this," says Principal Robert Feldman. "They're getting something here in our school, whether it's dry cleaning or carpentry."

The students say they are happy to help.

"It's amazing how many community members are donating clothes for the needy," says Mikaela McLurkin. "And I go by this motto, give to the needy, don't be greedy."

Under the guidance of their instructors, these students will walk away with more than just practical trades. They’ll take with them life lessons as well.

"Knowing we are making a big difference, it's a good idea for other dry cleaners out there if they want to help out," says McLurkin.

This is the seventh annual East Brunswick Coat Drive. The jackets will help local charities such as Lunch Break, Job Corps of Edison and the Rescue Mission of Trenton.
