The 5 train is operating normally once again Wednesday morning after service was temporarily suspended when a platform collapsed at the Dyre Ave. station in the Bronx.

It happened Tuesday night when MTA crews were conducting work on an island platform while using heavy equipment. The 20-40 foot platform collapsed around 8:15 p.m.

The MTA released a statement saying, "Incredible work by our crews overnight, repairs are complete and normal services have resumed on the 5 line."
