Off the Streets Bridgeport, a nonprofit, says it's hoping to get enough donations to help residents of a multi-family house on Connecticut Avenue.

Fire ripped through the building a week ago, leaving 10 people homeless.

The nonprofit is providing security deposits to people who need a roof over their head.

Organizers say the program is ideal for people who don't have enough money saved for a security deposit but can pay rent through some source of income.
