Nor’easter brings significant flooding to Fairfield’s waterfront
Saturday’s nor’easter caused police in Fairfield to block off several streets due to flooding conditions.
Police blocked off Fairfield Beach Road at Reef Road due to rising waters that poured in over the wall at the end of the street. Also, the intersection of Reef Road and Fairfield Beach Road was flooded.
Drivers were forced to turn around because the waters were high and moving quickly.
Public safety departments spent much of the day near the waterfront, working to make sure they could get to people who needed to leave the area.
