Police probe weekend knife fight incidents in Stamford
Stamford police say knives and alcohol made a dangerous combination over the Father's Day weekend.
Police are investigating four knife fights that occurred in less than 12 hours. Two of the disputes occurred at Antonio's restaurant on West Main Street.
The wave of violence started around 8:30 p.m. Sunday on Finney Lane, when police say two men began to fight with knives.
The violence continued around 10:30 p.m. at Antonio?s where police say a man stabbed his brother-in-law and possibly himself. Both men were hospitalized with knife wounds. Then after midnight, two different men were fighting with knives at the same establishment.
The last incident occurred on Custer Street around 1 a.m. Monday where police say a man chased after teens with a butcher knife.
Police don't believe any of the incidents are connected, but believe alcohol was a factor in all of them. Three arrests were made; no one was seriously injured.
