Police seek help in Fairfield gas station robbery case
Fairfield police are asking for the public's help in finding a man who robbed a gas station.
It happened Sunday night at the Star Fuels Gas station on Jennings Road.
Police say he came into the convenience store around 9:15 p.m., waving a knife and demanding money. They tell News 12 that the clerk opened the register and backed away while the suspect reached in, grabbed some cash and ran off.
Star Fuels was also robbed by a man with a knife back on Feb. 11. Surveillance cameras captured both crimes.
No one was hurt in either robbery.
“It looks like the same suspect, not only given the weapon of choice but the build and gait of the suspect looks the same as the last robbery,” says Fairfield Police Department Lt. Robert Kalamaras.
They describe him as a tall thin male, with light to fair skin, wearing a purple bandana wrapped around his face, a gray-hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and work-style boots.
Police ask anyone with information in the case to call them at 203-254-4840.
