Sen. Richard Blumenthal announced a bill that would help doctors diagnose Lyme disease faster.
Officials say it helps create a more accurate count of cases in our area, which affects how much federal money comes to Connecticut to fight the disease.
Experts also shared tips on how to prevent the disease, like using repellent, checking for ticks after you have been outdoors, and treating your pets so they don't bring them in.
