Stamford-based Americares is sending essential supplies to more than 100 health facilities in the five states devastated by weekend tornadoes.
Americares' emergency response team is currently based in Kentucky, where the destruction included one factory with over 100 workers inside.
The nonprofit says over the weekend they contacted partners in Kentucky, Missouri, Mississippi, Arkansas, and Tennessee and started distributing supplies.
Americares officials say the priority is filling the basic needs that will keep those affected alive and healthy.
The organization says donations to its disaster relief fund will help victims of the Midwest tornadoes.
