A weapon accessories store is about to add firearms to its inventory near a Norwalk school as tensions rise in the gun control debate across the country.
M2 Tactical Solutions at 345 Main Ave. says it had already been selling holsters and other items to law enforcement personnel for the last few years through its website.
But it's about to start selling guns, a decision that prompted an organization called Citizens for Sensible Policy to distribute flyers around the neighborhood protesting the opening of a gun shop within 1,000 feet of Briggs High School.
Matt Mitchell, who owns the store, says he will have all the proper permits and operate his business safely when he starts selling guns next month.
"The things that criminals do can't affect law-abiding people from opening businesses," he says.
There's already another gun store about a mile away.
