A man from Middletown who officials say drove a car loaded up with gas containers and purposely crashed his car into a Middlesex Hospital entranceway has died.
A Bridgeport Hospital spokesman confirmed Steven Ellam, 27, died overnight.
Ellam had been in critical condition since he arrived at the hospital's burn unit.
According to authorities, Ellam drove his car, full of flammable liquid, into the hospital back on Feb. 22 and streamed the crash live on Facebook.
Authorities say he drove into the sliding doors to the hospital's emergency room and lit himself on fire.
