Residents in southwestern Connecticut say Tropical Storm Arthur doesn't scare them, but serves as a reminder to always be ready for a hurricane.
Neighborhood Association President Bill Reedy says Hurricane Irene and Superstorm Sandy gutted houses, but there is mostly nothing to fear so far this hurricane season.
News 12 Connecticut Meteorologist Kari Hall says residents should make sure they have all the items they need in a preparedness kit. Families should know what the plan is in the event that there is a hurricane, as well.
The National Weather Service urges homeowners to have non-perishable foods, gallons of water, flashlights and batteries during inclement weather conditions.
