The owner of a used car dealership says that a pair of men stole a used police car off his lot and that he is worried they will use it for nefarious reasons.
Photos taken from the dealership’s surveillance system shows the two men at State Surplus Auto Sales in Newark Saturday. They apparently told the sales representatives that they were looking to get a car.
Owner Carmen Yannuzzi says that one of the suspects test drove a different car with a salesman, while the other man somehow got the keys a silver 2016 Ford Taurus from an office, hopped in it and took off.  The first man drove away in the car they came in, according to Yannuzzi.
State Surplus Auto Sales specializes in used police cars. Yannuzzi tells News 12 New Jersey that he is worried that the men are planning to use the stolen car to commit another crime.
“You could do anything, park anywhere and no one questions it,” he says. “You'd think cop, FBI agent, anything."
Yannuzzi, a former corrections officer, says that he is working with the Newark Police Department to track down the suspects. He says that the two men had a young child with them at the time.
Newark police tell News 12 that they have identified the men in the video and are in the process of applying for a warrant.
