A young mother from Hunterdon County says she and her son are on edge after she received a threatening, racist letter.

Brittany Thompson, of Lebanon Borough, says she found the letter on her front door Monday morning.

The writer of the letter claims to be with the Ku Klux Klan. The letter itself contained racist, hateful and profane words. The letter also threatened Thompson and said that if she goes outside, “you gonna get stabbed we gonna kill you.”

Thompson says that she thought the letter may have been a Halloween prank, but her family urged her to call police due to the content of the letter. She says that she is fearful for herself and her 6-year-old son.

The New Jersey State Police have taken the letter as evidence and are investigating the incident.
