One person was killed and two others were injured in a shooting in Bridgeport Thursday night.
It happened at the Greene Homes housing complex around 7 p.m.
Officers say the three victims were taken to Saint Vincent's Medical Center, where one man died from his wounds. He has been identified as 22-year-old Miguel Arguelles.
Officers say another 22-year-old was shot in the stomach and is in critical condition.
A third person was shot in the leg.
The shooting marks the 16th homicide in Bridgeport this year. The city's newly appointed mayor, Joe Ganim, has been very outspoken about how the current administration has handled crime. He says the city needs to hire more police officers and he wants to create more substations.
Mayor Ganim also says there needs to be more community policing, and says he will take on these issues once he takes office on Dec. 1.
