State police say a 9 mm bullet was found on the floor of a classroom at Lakeview High School in Litchfield Friday, prompting the school to issue a brief 'shelter-in-place'.

As part of a safety protocol, troopers and K-9s conducted a full search of the building and did not find a gun, but they did identify a 15-year-old student as the source of the bullet.

The student was issued a juvenile summons for breach of peace. Superintendent Jeffery Villar says the school will also take disciplinary action.

Police say there was no threat to the school or the public, and the shelter-in-place has since been lifted.
