Two Bridgeport police officers are recovering tonight after their squad car was hit by a fleeing vehicle.

Police say two officers responding to assist another officer were broadsided by a speeding vehicle at around 7 p.m. Christmas night. The impact ripped the passenger door off the squad car.

Roderick Doda and Eric Schneider were rushed to the hospital with serious injuries.The alleged driver of the fleeing vehicle, 18-year-old Josue Jimenez, hurt his face and leg. His passenger, 21-year-old Antonio Lostaunau, had a leg injury.

Both officers are expected to make a full recovery. Jimenez and Lostaunau are facing charges.
