Two teens with ties to southwestern Connecticut were found dead in North Carolina last week.
Tyler Gilbert, 16, and DeAndre Gilbert, 19, were found in a wooded area in Onslow County, North Carolina, on Wednesday.
Authorities say the exact circumstances surrounding their deaths are unclear at this time but they believe the two teens were homicide victims.
A cousin of the boys says she grew up with them in Norwalk and later moved to Bridgeport together.
She says the brothers relocated with their mother to North Carolina three years ago.
Authorities in Onslow County say the brothers' family reported them missing a week ago, and their bodies were discovered in a wooded area three days later with their burned out car nearby.
Police have named 23-year old Steve McCarthy as a person of interest in the investigation and are asking him to come forward.
The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation is asking anyone with information to call them.
