The Westport Library hosted a theater conversation with actors and Broadway performers James Naughton and Carole Schweid.

The actors discussed the current state of live theater and what the future holds for the art form.

The event also had a screening of the short film "Not the Same Clarence." The film features Naughton and his son depicting the realities of caring for a parent with dementia, and its impact on their lives.

When News 12 Connecticut asked what his favorite part of acting was, Naughton said it was taking on the life of another person.

"Being able to investigate the parts that I've played, shows that I've been in, and the plays that I've done, from Shakespeare, to O'Neill, to Tennesse Williams, when you get to inhabit the skin of another human being," said Naughton.

The actor will be back at the library for an event on Oct. 16.
