Students on Thursday joined Lt. Gov. Susan Bysewitz to encourage Gen Z to seek mental health treatment.
The effort is called “Send Silence Packing.”
"I'm so grateful that I met some friends in the beginning of orientation, who brought me to the counseling center,” said Active Minds Inc. Dayna Altman. “I was quickly diagnosed with OCD, depression, and an eating disorder."
In 2022, Connecticut approved millions of dollars for school-based counselors.
There's also more access to out-of-state tele-health providers than in Connecticut as of 2024.
