Through a partnership with The Palace Theatre and Symphony Space, children in Stamford have spent the week learning about different cultures through art.

Symphony Space, a New York City based arts organization, held its global art workshop at the theater.

The free event allowed 45 kids in third through fifth grade the chance to explore Latin American, African and Asian cultures through drumming, dancing, writing and visual arts.

Each day the group learned about a different location and Thursday focused on Asia.

"This program was created in the believe that the arts brings all people together and we all are one. You know, it brakes down barriers and helps children understand other children," says Carol Bryan, the director of education at The Palace Theatre.

This is the third year Symphony Space and The Palace Theatre have partnered to hold the workshop.
