‘Community Rising’ music festival raises funds for CT residents impacted by historic flooding

A day-long music festival raised money Saturday for flood victims – just three weeks after severe rains left Oxford and surrounding communities in a state of emergency.
It was all in an effort to alleviate some financial burden to residents who were affected by the Aug. 18 flood.
Ten bands took the stage throughout the day. Local businesses and vendors set up tents along Quarry Walk Center Rock Green in Oxford.
"The region needs millions of dollars,” said Patrick Haynes, a festival organizer. “People have lost everything with little support from insurance and agencies…sometimes it takes a tragedy for a community to come together. And that is absolutely what you're seeing here. Neighbors are always helping neighbors."
All donations will go directly to TEAM, Inc., with 100% of the proceeds supporting residents affected.
