Motorists are being advised to expect impacts from the nor'easter during the Monday morning commute.

The Metropolitan Transportation Agency released an update for New Yorkers on the preparations its making as the nor'easter brings strong winds and heavy rain Sunday.

The agency says its employees will be positioned to respond to any weather-related issues. The MTA also reminds customers to avoid unnecessary travel, and to stay alert for service updates by visiting mta.info or the MTA and TrainTime apps.

NYC Transit will have emergency response equipment ready for flooding conditions and water removal.

Field personnel were inspecting and cleaning drains ahead of the storm. Personnel will continue to be positioned at critical locations ready to respond quickly.

NYC Transit Department of Buses personnel will have detours prepared in the event of flooding.

The MTA says emergency generators will be ready in the event of a power outage.

MTA Bridges and Tunnel personnel will be on standby for any incidents or emergencies.

The MTA already announced that trucks are banned on bridges from 3 p.m. Sunday through 6 p.m. Monday.

Long Island Rail Road crews will be in position to minimize service disruptions.

Additional personnel will be added to quickly address any challenges caused by flooding, downed trees and other potential storm damage until the nor'easter exits the region.

The MTA is also reminding customers to avoid unnecessary travel and to stay alert for service updates by visiting mta.info or the MTA and TrainTime apps.
