Some Parkchester residents on Unionport Road are doing all they can to stay warm inside their homes, after going more than a month without heat.

Eric Castro said he and some of his neighbors have been without heat in their apartments since October. He said he and others have filed numerous complaints about the lack of heat but have yet to have the issue resolved.

"We have it in the kitchen - but the bedrooms and a bathroom, no heat at all," shared Castro.

Castro and a few of his neighbors are now relying on space heaters to take the chill off of the rooms in their apartments, but Castro wants the heat through the building that's included each month with his rent.

"We had to get space heaters, which is going to drive up the bill, and we just have a lot of clothes on. It's real frustrating," Castro explained.

According to the HPD website, 54 various complaints for Castro's building have been made, with many of the complaints reporting no heat, dating back to October. There are also 60 open violations listed for the building, with the most recent citing inadequate heat supply.

Castro is asking for Parkchester North Management to restore the full heat within his apartment.

"I just want heat at his point. Like, what is it? Can y'all please put something out saying, hey we have a known issue. Right now is nothing. There's no letters, no nothing, no emails, no calls. It's just 'He say, she say. It's gonna be on. My boss is saying this," said Castro.

News 12 has called, emailed and made an in-person visit to Parkchester North Management for answers. There has been no response as of Wednesday evening.
