A teen has been killed and two other people were hurt after a fight broke out during a gathering in Nassau County on Wednesday.
The 15-year-old male and two additional victims were shot, Nassau police say.
The incident happened around 8 p.m. at Field 2 at Eisenhower Park in East Meadow during a so-called ‘BBQ’ that had been promoted on social media.
Nassau Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder says this shooting was related to the Bloods gang and two people have been arrested with firearms in their possession.
The two individuals who were hurt were taken into surgery, but are in stable condition, Ryder said.
The teen was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.
No ages were given for any of the other people involved at this time.
People who attended the event were both male and female, from Suffolk County and the Bronx, according to the Commissioner.
