Gov. Ned Lamont's former budget deputy Kosta Diamantis is expected to plead guilty in his second corruption case, according to a new court filing.

The U.S. Attorney's Office confirms there will be a change of plea hearing Monday afternoon at Bridgeport Federal Court.

The case involves a Medicaid fraud investigation where Diamantis allegedly intervened on behalf of a Bristol eye doctor.

As News 12 has reported, former state Rep. Christopher Ziogas, who was accused of bribing Diamantis, pleaded guilty to extortion, bank fraud and lying to the FBI in November.

The two men allegedly accepted $100,000 from Helen Zervas. Prosecutors say Diamantis pressured the state to cancel an audit into questionable Medicaid billing by Zervas.

News 12 has reached out to Diamantis' lawyers but has not heard back.

In October, Diamatis was convicted of extortion and bribery related to school construction contracts. He is awaiting sentencing in that case.
