Wilton police officers hosted a Coffee with a Cop event Wednesday at Theo’s General Store. The gathering was designed to strengthen relationships within the community by giving people a chance to ask questions, share concerns and get to know the officers.

Along with the conversations, officers handed out safety vests to attendees. The vests were obtained through a state grant and are meant to increase the visibility of pedestrians, joggers, cyclists and anyone spending time outdoors.

Coffee with a Cop is a national initiative focused on bridging the gap between law enforcement and the public by creating informal opportunities for connection.
