A new clinical research study on postpartum depression is looking for new mothers to participate in.

The Feinstein Institutes for Medical Research is conducting the study which is trying to predict which antidepressant medication will work best for each individual. This will eliminate the trial-and-error approach that causes 75% of mothers to quit treatment within 60 days, according to the Feinstein Institutes.

"The challenge is, there are about 10 different medications and antidepressants that we can use to treat perinatal depression. And right now, we have no idea of knowing which of those medications will work for individual women." says the institutes' Dr. Kristina M. Deligiannidis.

Women who are between the ages of 18 and 45 and are pregnant or who have recently given birth are eligible participate in the study.
