Norwalk held its annual Police Memorial Ceremony Thursday in honor of National Police Week.

The week is a time to reflect and remember officers who lost their lives in the service of their communities.

"It's important to know the sacrifices that they've done for the community of Norwalk, the United States and the state of Connecticut. It's always good to remember the sacrifices and what we do every single day. The other 51 weeks of the year, we all get so busy that we forget the sacrifices of my other officers," said James Walsh, Nowalk chief of police.

The ceremony included honoring the memory for the four Norwalk officers killed in the line of duty by lighting candles and observing a moment of silence.

The officers honored were Sgt. Frank S Stratton, Officer Sherrald Gorton, Sgt. Nicholas Fera and Officer Marco Carias.
