Police: Woman facing charges for driving 105 mph while impaired in New Milford

A woman is accused of driving 105 mph while under the influence in New Milford, police say.

Police stopped Rosa Chauca Saturday after they observed her speeding.

Chauca was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and or drugs, reckless driving, speeding and operating a motor vehicle without a license.

Police say she posted bond and is scheduled to appear in court June 18.

Ahead of summer and increased traffic in town, police are reminding people to drive responsibly and obey all traffic laws. They say that excessive speed and impaired driving are significant factors in serious motor vehicle crashes.

Drivers are additionally encouraged to slow down, avoid distractions and do not drive while impaired.
