A Missouri man has admitted to taking part in a plot to steal Bitcoin that led to a kidnapping in Danbury in August 2024, according to federal prosecutors.

22-year-old Saif Faiq pleaded guilty in federal court to conspiracy to interfere with commerce by robbery, a charge that carries up to 20 years in prison. He has been detained since his arrest in November 2025 and is scheduled to be sentenced on August 28.

Investigators said the scheme was tied to the theft of hundreds of millions of dollars in Bitcoin. Six men from Florida were arrested after carjacking a Lamborghini Urus and kidnapping two people in Danbury—the parents of a man accused of stealing the cryptocurrency.

Prosecutors said Faiq, his brother Adam Iza and others coordinated funding, travel, communication and surveillance for the attempted robbery and kidnapping. Iza also pleaded guilty. All six individuals charged in the carjacking and kidnapping have entered guilty pleas.

The case was investigated by the FBI and Danbury Police, with assistance from multiple federal and state agencies.
