HEAT ALERT:

Another round of unseasonably hot and humid weather is taking over the region this week. Sunny skies, temperatures in the 90s on the surface and will feel around 100 degrees will last through Wednesday night.

Thursday, temperatures will still be unseasonably hot, but the humidity will be lower, and temperatures will fall to the low 90s. The temperatures will not meet advisory criteria, but a hot day will still be on tap.

During this stretch, it will remain dry through the entire week for the most part. This weekend, an approaching storm system is expected to bring thunderstorms by Saturday and last through Sunday. As of now, outdoor weekend plans don't look great. However, stick with us as we fine-tune the forecast to provide clearer details.

WEDNESDAY: HEAT ALERT -- Mostly sunny, hot and humid. Highs around 98 degrees. It can feel like up to 102 degrees. Stay heat smart, drink extra water, and take breaks from the high heat. Lows near 72 degrees.

THURSDAY: Sun and clouds. Hot, but less humid. Highs around 92 degrees. Lows near 70 degrees.

FRIDAY: Mostly sunny. Highs around 89 degrees. Lows near 68 degrees.
