24-year-old man arrested for sexual assault of a juvenile in Wilton

Wilton police arrested a 24-year-old man after they say he sexually assaulted a juvenile who was jogging near Allen's Meadows on Sunday morning.
Police responded to Wilton High School at approximately 10:55 a.m. on June 21 after receiving a report of the assault.
Police say the victim told officers that a man, later identified as 24-year-old Scott Dobos, of Wilton, approached while they were jogging. After introducing himself and attempting to start a conversation, Dobos allegedly groped the victim.
The victim ran away and sought help from a group of people at Wilton High School, who immediately called the police.
During their search of the area, officers spotted a white Toyota Tacoma in the Allen's Meadows parking lot. The vehicle left shortly afterward, police said.
Officers later went to the registered owner's home and spoke with the owner's son, identified as Dobos. Police said he admitted he had been in the area but denied having contact with the victim.
Police say Dobos matched the description provided by the victim, who later identified him as the person responsible for the assault.
Dobos was arrested and charged with fourth-degree sexual assault, risk of injury to a child, and second-degree breach of peace.
He was released after posting a $3,500 surety bond on a court-set $50,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on July 1, 2026, at 10 a.m.
In a statement, the Wilton Police Department says it shares the community's concerns about the incident and remains fully committed to protecting the safety and well-being of residents. Officials also thanked the community members who helped the victim and quickly contacted police, saying their actions helped bring the incident to a swift resolution.
