Two teenagers have been arrested in connection with a deadly nightclub shooting in Waterbury that left two people dead.

Police say the shooting happened July 5 and claimed the lives of 22-year-old Trevon Dunbar and 18-year-old Zaniya Dawkins.

Authorities say the juvenile suspects were taken into custody in New Britain.

Investigators say several handguns and other evidence were recovered during the arrests.

The teens are now facing eight charges, including two counts of murder and conspiracy to commit murder.

Waterbury police say additional information about the case is expected to be released later today.

The investigation remains ongoing.
