A rare sighting in the waters off our East End on Monday.

An orca whale was spotted about 10 miles from Montauk.

Campers at the O'Seas Conservation Shark Camp first saw the marine mammal while out with Dr. Craig O’Connell.

O’Connell, a wildlife presenter also known as 'The Shark Doctor,' tells News 12 this is one of the rarest things to see here.

“There is a lone alpha male orca known as Old Thom, and if I had to guess, this is him," he added.
