Officials in Newtown are pausing the rollout of license plate reader cameras after residents expressed concern over its possible misuse.
The move comes after the town held a legislative council meeting and received negative feedback of the new technology from community members in the area.
According to town leaders, the police department will also now give the Board of Police Commissioners regular documentation that proves the cameras are not being used.
