20-year-old male stabbed in front of The SoNo Collection in Norwalk

Police determined that an altercation occurred between an person operating a moped and four people who were walking on the sidewalk.

A 20-year-old male was stabbed on the sidewalk in front of The SoNo Collection on Monday.

It happened extending along West Avenue from North Water Street to the area of the I-95 northbound on-ramp around 7 p.m.

Norwalk police officers initially responded to the area of 100 North Water Street in response to a report of an assault.

Police determined that an altercation occurred between a person driving a moped and four people who were walking on the sidewalk.

They believe one of the suspects produced a sharp object and stabbed the victim in the right arm.

Officers detained several people believed to be involved in a fight.

The male was taken to Norwalk Hospital and is currently listed in stable condition.

Patrol officers arrested 18-year-old Danny Reyes in connection to the incident.

Reyes was found with a Kahr .45-caliber handgun in his possession.

Officers also arrested 19-year-old Lester Escobar-Ayala.

Escobar-Ayala and Reyes of Norwalk are both due in court Aug. 12.
