STORM WATCH: Heavy rain targets Connecticut tonight into Wednesday

Showers will become widespread this evening and continue overnight, with thunderstorms embedded within the rain. Some locations could receive 1 to 3 inches of rainfall, leading to localized flooding, especially in poor-drainage and low-lying areas. Isolated totals of greater than 5 inches are possible.
The unsettled pattern continues through Wednesday with multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms. While there may be occasional breaks in the rain, don't expect a washout-free day. Additional heavy downpours are possible, and rainfall totals will continue to add up before conditions slowly improve later in the week.
Showers remain possible Thursday before sunshine finally returns Friday. The weekend looks much more favorable with dry weather, comfortable temperatures, and a mix of sun and clouds.
