A Bridgeport man is accused of pointing a handgun at a car while three kids were inside, state police say.

It happened on July 29 around 8:45 a.m. on Route 25 in Trumbull.

The driver of an SUV told police they were driving with three kids when a minivan allegedly cut off their vehicle in traffic and began driving aggressively. The driver told troopers they and their passengers feared for their safety.

The driver informed police that while traveling near Exit 5, they saw Jeffrey Guerette holding what they believed to be handgun and pointing it in their direction.

Police say the incident was captured on the SUV's dash cameras.

Troopers identified Guerette as the driver and searched for his vehicle. They found a loaded 9 mm handgun within a box. They say he did have a valid CT Pistol Permit, which was seized during the investigation.

Police say the incident was captured on the SUV's dash cameras.

Guerette's charges include breach of peace, threatening, reckless endangerment and three counts of risk of injury to a minor.

He was released on $20,000 bond and is expected to be arraigned Aug. 24.
